The Planning Division provides land use services to the public in the areas of residential, commercial and industrial permitting, engages in long range community planning and zoning enforcement, and coordinates a variety of regional programs in the unincorporated areas of Ventura County.
Proposed Ventura County Local Coastal Program Amendment: Proposed County-Initiated Adoption of an Ordinance to Amend Articles 2, 4, 5, 6, and 11 of the Ventura County Coastal Zoning Ordinance to update regulations and development standards for Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) and to add regulations and development standards for Junior Accessory Dwelling Units (JADUs), consistent with Government Code Section 66310 et seq. The amendments also include minor revisions to Article 5 to remove outdated references to mobilehomes and clarify requirements for wet bars.
